require mandatory psychiatric evaluation prior to purchase of firearms in order to protect unarmed citizens.

Created by S.L. on December 16, 2012

Citizens of the United States are guaranteed the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Allowing mentally-ill or -unstable citizens to purchase, possess, operate, or sell firearms of any type is an infringement upon the right to life because it facilitates illogical violence. A psychiatrist is qualified to determine the mental condition and stability of a human without impeding any of their constitutional rights. Therefore, I propose mandatory psychiatric evaluation prior to purchase of firearms in order to greatly increase the difficulty of acquiring firearms for the mentally-ill or -unstable. Many innocent lives will be saved by this legislation. Every harmless non-violent citizen will retain his or her right to bear arms.
