Manufacturers should be required to print a notice if a product's development was made possible by the US space program.
With funding for the US space program at appallingly low levels due to budget cuts, the average American does not see need for basic research, especially space exploration. However, NASA research was responsible for the creation of safety equipment, medical devices, computer technology that people take for granted in their everyday lives. Many people know that the space race made technological advances, but do not know what they are or where to find such a list.
Printing such a message will remind people that scientific research has surprisingly broad application and increase national pride in peaceful research.
