Oklahoma has passed a bill banning medical professional from performing abortions. This only affects womens ability to control their bodies and their reproductive rights and leaves them the sole responsible party for a situation that involved two people.
Vasectomies are reversible and can be undone once a man and woman have both confirmed their desire to have children. The risks of vasectomies are lower than that of pregnancy, particularly for women who struggle to get access to healthcare.
Now that many women will be left without a choice or voice in their pregnancies, it is only fair for men to be forced to carry a part of the responsibility to avoid accidental pregnancies. It is time for men to step up and do their part to guarantee to avoid accidental pregnancies.
