We have a responsibility to ensure that only the mentally fit in our society have access to deadly firearms.
We have to pass a written and practical exam in order to have a license to drive. We have to have a school physical and provide immunization records to simply attend a public school. We need to have a safeguard in place that can also act as a tool to provide mental health services to those that require it.
We have the right to bear arms, but we have proven that not everyone should do so.
