To facilitate the development and use of alternative energy in America, the Administration should require the US Military budget to have a substantial "green technology" line item that requires purchases and R&D funding directly related to reducing the amount of fossil fuels used in the military.
By encouraging one of the biggest government programs to spend money on a "green" future, we both reduce our military's reliance on oil and facilitate the development and advancement of green vehicles for business and civilian use worldwide.
