Currently military sex offenders are asked where they are going when they are being released from a military prison. The military informs the law enforcement in the area where they are going upon release and instructs the sex offender to self-register upon his arrival. Surprisingly, a large number of military sex offenders do not register on a sex offender registry, some even commit more sex crimes. Civilian sex offenders are required to register their crimes with a sex offender registry before being released from prison. By requiring military sex offenders to register their crimes with a sex offender registry before being released from a military prison would keep them from falling under the radar and provides for a safer United States. Please help protect our families.
