This petition would require mortgage holders who expel homeowners from their homes due to delinquency in making timely mortgage payments to immediately (within 60 days) file forclosure, take legal possession of the reclaimed property, and pay all legally binding debts associated with the property, such as real estate taxes and home owners' association fees. Currently mortgage holders are intentionally leaving reclaimed properties in limbo so as to avoid paying such taxes and fees.
