Whereas over 110 million Americans watch the Super Bowl each year and whereas one study has shown over 1.5 million workers will call in sick the morning after and another 4.4 million will go to work late. We request the White House ask the NFL to schedule the Super Bowl on Saturday.
Playing the Super Bowl on Saturday will result in higher workforce productivity on the first Monday of each February. This productivity increase could make a non-partisan impact on our country's deficit.
Furthermore, families will have the first Sunday of February together for quality family time rather than spending it at parties.
Super Bowl Saturday will also be a boon to local hospitality businesses. People could fully enjoy Super Bowl parties without worrying about Monday work.
