Because television media remains the dominant way in which Americans receive both entertainment & news, and
Because expensive air time means that political candidates with the deepest pockets have the most voice & presence on this media, and
Because the funds required to run a campaign are so vast that our public servants are on constant fundraising mode, and
Because major television networks are known to flavor political coverage to suit their corporate agendas or values, and
Because what coverage we do get perpetuates a two-party-only system with a narrow spectrum of ideas,
The American People never receive full, equal coverage of all political candidates, which disables our ability to make fully informed decisions about whom will lead us, and to what. This disables our Democracy.
