In this country we do more to teach people how to safely drive than we do to safely manage their firearms. We need to institute a required course for gun safety in both the operation of firearms and the safe and secure storage of same.
This must be done on a national level to insure that all weapon owners have had the same comprehensive and complete education required to safely own such dangerous devices.
This would add to their own safety as well as the public's safety at large.
