require NC to immediately inact a Speedy Trial time frame, as is guaranteed by the Constitution.

Created by J.P. on July 19, 2013

The state of North Carolina has NO time frame for a Speedy Trial. Despite the fact that the Constitution gives people the right to a speedy trial, when a state has no such time frame set, they are permitted to use their own judgment. This has resulted in people being jailed for years on end only to be acquitted later. We ask that North Carolina be required, immediately, to set a time frame for speedy trials, that will effect all currently pending trials and all future ones.
