The Affordable Care Act requires all Americans to have health insurance. The purpose of that insurance is to provide for individuals' medical expenses. We request the White House modify the laws to require insurance companies to pay the allowed amounts to all physicians licensed to provide an approved service, whether in the insurance company's physician network or not.
No consumer protection is provided by the policy of paying more to in network providers than out of network providers. Only insurance companies benefit from this. It allows them to provide less in benefits to their insured. Often patients don't find out, until after services are provided, that they don't have the level of coverage they thought.
Any physician licensed to provide a service should be covered the same.
