require the Office of Management and Business to accept Freedom of Information Requests by email. It's the 21st century.

Created by R.T. on April 10, 2013

Currently the Office of Management and Budget requires that Freedom of Information Requests (FOIR) must be submitted via mail--not email. It's the 21st century. Imagine how many people decide not to submit a request simply because it is a hassle to write the letter, get stamps and an envelope (which no one has anymore), and then wait days and days just for the letter to get to DC. If President Obama wants to run the most transparent administration ever, he needs to make FOIR easier to process and submit. Why not utilize the technological capabilities that we have?
