Require Office of Personnel Management to Show Data Justifying Regulations That Hurts $250,000,000 in Annual Donations

Created by M.T. on May 30, 2013

The Office of Personnel Management has proposed sweeping regulations that will detrimentally alter the administration and operation of the Combined Federal Campaign, which provides over $250 million for charities annually. This petition asks that the President request from OPM the empirical evidence that was used to calculate the effectiveness of the proposed regulation changes to the CFC. If OPM cannot provide evidence that its new regulations will not radically reduce the amount of charitable giving produced by the CFC, then we must ask that the adoption of the proposed regulation changes be placed on hold until there is substantial evidence that our nation’s non-profit sector will not suffer. We owe that much to the 25,000 charities of the CFC who serve our communities nationwide.
