I feel like not giving badge numbers to civilians may provide the wrong person with an opportunity of putting the public in harms way (especially young impressionable children). What I mean by this is any twisted person could impersonate an officer and tell people they need to do as they say or get arrested.
This lack of regulation puts our people in harms way.
