When shopping for digital goods online, (eg. music, software, ebooks, etc.), where your purchase is in the form of a downloaded file, merchants should be required to be more forthcoming in the fact that you don't actually own the file you are buying.
The fact that merchants have you click on a button that is labeled "Buy", "Purchase", or some similar synonym, misleads the consumer into believing they own the file being purchased.
However, buried deep within the terms and conditions it is explained that what you are really doing is agreeing to a conditional purchase, subject to terms laid out by the seller. And these terms can change without notice.
This petition requests clearer explanations before such purchases are finalized.
