Prior to voting on any proposed gun ownership legislation, all voting members of Congress should be required to view the evidence photographs, taken by law enforcement personnel, of the aftermath of mass shootings.
To not view first hand evidence is to work in shadow, basing your decisions on the interpretations of witnesses - pro and con.
Persons on jury duty often are made to view such evidence before making life and death decisions. We should ask nothing less of our legislators.
