In most dog bite cases that would result in a family dog being put down from "agression" we commonly forget that it is the owner of the pet that ultimatly is responsible for the proper training and socialization of their dog. The dog is not at fault, as dogs only bite as a defense unless instructed otherwise. Anxiety and fear are the two leading causes of bites, as well as the owner not displaying proper leadership qualities. The owners of dogs in such cases should be required to attend human/canine relation classes so that the owner can realize how to properly control his animal, as opposed to wasting not only a loving, caring life, but wasting company and government resourses on countless animals across america, that, given proper leadership and socialization, would be fine companions
