Require those receiving welfare to pass a random, annual drug test. VETERANS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE DRUG TEST.
With more people on welfare than at any point in our history, taxpayers are having to support a growing amount of people. Welfare was designed to get people back on their feet, not as a way of life. There are countless cases of welfare abuse, a lot of which involve drug users. This idea would lower the burden on our taxpayers and save the government money.
One argument against this is that the costs of the drug testing out-weighs the money saved. To counter this the cost of the drug test would come out of the welfare the individual is receiving.
