When the President, or other officials, make an announcement or address to the people, their voices are often drowned out by the simulated shutter sounds produced by modern digital cameras. On many occasions I've been completely unable to make out more than a few words and have given up straining to hear whomever is speaking and switched to other programming.
This is easily enough fixed by simply muting the camera, reducing the volume to a minimal level or selecting a less intrusive sound. Nearly all digital cameras offer these features, which are typically easily accessible.
I propose that all photographers wishing to attend these events be required to mute their cameras, much like situations where cellphones are subject to similar restrictions. Thank you…
