The federal government annually collects data on police-involved fatalities, but there are currently no laws requiring police departments to report this information, making the data both difficult to collect, and inaccurate due to under-reporting.
This petition calls on Congress and the Obama administration to pass a bill requiring local and state police departments to report all police-involved incidents which result in injury or death to the federal government.
