Require police officers nationwide to wear a body camera on their person at all times while active in the field.

Created by H.C. on September 30, 2014

There has been a lot of controversy lately over allegations of police brutality. This often results in a citizen's word vs. the police officer's word scenario that is undeniably biased against the citizen.
This problem is easily rectified. By passing a federal law requiring police officers in the field to wear a body cam at all times, any activity by the officer will be recorded. This is beneficial for both citizens and the police officers. It protects officers from false allegations of police brutality while protecting citizens from the bias given to an officer's account of events in the case of actual brutality. Transparency in police interaction is the best policy.
