Use of body cameras by police officers has been associated with dramatic reductions in use of force and complaints against officers, according to the independent, nonpartisan and nonprofit Police Foundation. In a controlled experiment, police shifts that did not wear body cameras were twice as likely to experience incidents of use of force as shifts that wore the cameras.
