Time and time again we hear news of police brutality and abuse of law enforcement power. Cops could destroy property or make arrests under false pretenses and then proceed to lie to cover themselves. Without witnesses, they could easily get away with.
We the people of the United States petition the government to require all law enforcement agents to wear cameras while on duty.
Requiring officers to record their interactions would help deter abuse of their authority, as well as stopping false complaints from the public.
Seeing as how most stations have the budget to afford guns, body armor and other tools that should rarely ever be used unless in extreme circumstances, there should be no reason why they could not afford decent helmet recorders for ~$50.
