Political ads (print, broadcast, online, et. al.) are not currently required to be factually correct or complete. They can be manipulations of facts, partial information, or downright lies. The public makes critically important decisions based on this information, so it should be just as reliable as the ingredients on a package of food or bottle of medicine. Those who place such ads should be levied significant fines for their carelessness or intentional deceptions...perhaps an amount equal to the cost of running the ad.
