Require prime time TV broadcast anchors / hosts to hold an individual FCC license, to be annually reviewed.

Created by E.E. on January 08, 2013

Given the uproar that Mr. Piers Morgan has succeeded in creating with his highly inflammatory and personal attacks on anyone who does not share his particular view on personal gun ownership, direct the FCC to require individual licensure to broadcast anchors or show hosts in the same way it requires broadcast firms to stand for public review periodically. Rather than perpetuating the current pattern of commercial reaction (threaten to boycott advertisers, etc.) this would allow citizens to actively engage in providing opinion to the federal government on how well civil discourse was promoted by each member of the "face of the news." Mr. Morgan's actions clearly reflect contempt for both the viewing public and his high office, and the public should have a means to meaningful response.
