require producers of the over the counter drug ranitidine (zantac) to provide a warning of potential false positive

Created by M.F. on February 27, 2014

I have found that ranitidine generic name given to zantac an over the counter medication has high potential to show up on urinalysis drug screens as narcotics. It is something that the company acknowledges but consumers as well as testing facilities do not have knowledge on. I have had false positive results twice due to this medication and had to fight to prove my innocence. I'm not the only one, people have reported losing job opportunities over it, their children, and even been sent to prison. When the results come back people end up with no answer unless they search extensively for the answer, most dont suspect an acid re-flux medication and the answer for them often remains unknown. I ask that consumers be protected with proper warning on product, or for research be done.
