Require For-PROFIT Universities to have Grievance & Ombudsman Services throughout Academics, Operations, Financial Aid

Created by T.D. on April 23, 2014

We must not allow For-Profit higher education institutions/universities to put their own income agenda greater than the learning environment that must be provided to the student.

I propose that any institution participating in federal student aid programs or receiving federal/state funding be required to have formal grievance procedures for all areas of academics, operations, and financial aid management. Additionally an impartial Ombudsman must be available within these procedures whom the aggrieved party could contact for assistance in the resolution effort.

U.S. Department of Education to write/manage this policy and link it to Federal/State grievance procedures for escalated matters not resolved at the institution level. Penalties issued for non-compliance or poor service scores.
