There's a shortage of housing for those with HUD vouchers. Many dwellings on the market do not live up to the minimal HUD safety and code standards (even those managed by professional management companies). This measure would assure that most dwellings were safe and up to code, while greatly increasing the number of dwellings available to those with HUD Section 8 vouchers.
