Require public school curriculums to include education on gender and sexuality spectrums.

Created by L.C. on September 26, 2015

Despite the fact that on average 1 in 10 children are LGBTQIA+, in most schools, there is little or no education about genders and sexualities apart from cisgender and heterosexual. This can be problematic both for children who are questioning, and for those who identify as something other than cisgender heterosexual. By including education about these spectrums, we can make it easier for youth to understand their identities, and for those who already know their identity to come out, as their peers will have a better understanding, especially for those who identify outside of the gender binary. And overall, it's better to educate children on this so that later in life they will be more aware and understanding, resulting in better experiences for everyone.
