Require real estate agents & their brokerage firms to be recorded for all transactions they facilitated.

Created by K.S. on January 24, 2013

The real estate profession is largely self regulated and the market lacks transparency that would help consumers choose which agent to work with. We propose that real estate agents and their brokerage firms should be recorded for each real estate transaction. This would benefit the economy as consumers would have more data driven statistics about the transactions that agents have negotiated in the past. Consumers often enter into buyer or seller's agent agreements without having full knowledge about their agent's professional capability. Additionally, it would guard against potential conflicts of interest if an agent repeatedly works with certain developers.
