Please require realtime vehicle tracking information for internet (especially smartphones), as a requirement for all mass transit grants from the Department of Transportation. It would make huge difference for increasing mass transit ridership, if riders could avoid wasting time waiting for late vehicles. If the vehicle is late, riders will simply use their time as desired before heading to the transit pickup area, essentially minimizing wait time to negligible. Currently very few transit systems provide this information to users. This is an inexpensive way to reduce gas use and congestion, create jobs, sell products (network installation and maintenance), and modernize the US transit system.
