The rise of allergies worldwide is becoming an epidemic, resulting from hives to DEATH in the sufferer, specially children (nyti.ms/ZjYwAG). Currently, the only option for the afflicted is to avoid these items and try to keep an allergy-free diet.
However, this is easier said than done. There are hidden traces of allergens in everything we consume. For example, from soy sauce, beer, ketchup, to some meat, the processed food industry has used gluten on virtually everything they produce.
While the emergence of food labeling such as 'gluten-free' or 'diary-free items' is on packaged items; unfortunately, there is no way of knowing this from independent food providers such as restaurants.
We propose that restaurants not only STRICTLY CAUTION but LABEL their food as containing allergens.
