Require retail stores and restaurants to accept all denominations of U.S. currency for all transactions.

Created by D.D. on July 29, 2015

There are many retail stores and restaurants that post signs stating that they do not accept any currency larger than $20 bills. The U.S. has spent million of dollars updating and making improvements to our currency to deter and detect counterfeit money. There exist inexpensive ways to detect the validity of U.S. currency. Allowing retail stores and restaurants to dictate the type of valid U.S. currency to use in a transaction in inconvenient to consumers, and may adversely effect commerce. Therefore, a federal law is necessary to insure that consumers can use any denomination of valid U.S. currency in any transaction.
