REQUIRE SCHOOLS TO TEACH SAFE SEX METHODS THAT ARE INCLUSIVE OF THE LGBTQIA COMMUNITY DURING SEX EDUCATION COURSES

Created by A.M. on October 01, 2015

Sex education plays an important role in the ongoing life of a student, before and after they graduate. Safe sex practices are vital when it comes to leading a healthy and happy life. The idea of abstinence and the use of contraceptives, mainly condoms and birth control, are drilled into students' minds every year during the sex ed portion of the science curriculum. But what about the students that do not intend on having heterosexual intercourse? Contrary to popular belief, members of the LGBTQIA community are prominent in our society but are often "closeted" in their teenage years. How will LGBTQIA students know what protection is exclusively available to them if they are not informed?
