Require slaughterhouses to use money to find and utilize humane killing methods on animals for human consumption.

Despite current laws calling for humane slaughter, thousands of animals are unnecessarily forced to suffer within slaughterhouses each day. Due to the immense pressure of large quotas put on workers by corporations, animal welfare takes a back seat during production.
Please consider enacting a law that would require corporations to set aside funds to researching and enacting humane methods of killing and routine employee reminders about animal welfare.
Not only is it completely inhumane to abuse livestock, but it is dangerous to our health. There have been enough scandals in the meat and poultry industry.
As living creatures that are to become our food, animals should be treated with decency and respect in their last moments. We should not have to be ashamed of where our food comes from.
