Require State funded insurance to cover continuous glucose monitoring systems for all children with Type 1 Diabetes.

Created by E.G. on August 04, 2015

My son Mason is 4 and has Type 1 Diabetes. Currently he receives supplies through California Children's Services. They unfortunately do not cover a lifesaving device called CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITOR. This system enables caregivers to receive constant data on their children's blood sugar levels. This enables parents to treat high and potentionally deadly low blood sugar and treat before it occurs. Every child with Type 1 Diabetes should have access to this new technology. Over 90% of private insurances cover CGM. This has and will continue to save children's lives; particularly during night time while the child sleeps and isn't aware of low blood sugar occurrences. Please help children like my son to have access to this device. Type 1 Diabetes is an incurable autoimmune disease.
