The state of North Carolina should be required to pay teachers a salary that is commensurate with the averages of South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. By increasing the state teacher's salary, North Carolina could attract more, and better teachers to the state, and increase student performance on state and national tests.
