It is illegal in all states to drive a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. It's not that prescription drugs and alcohol are illegal, but rather that people who exercise their right to consume these substances become incapable of safely operating a car. The Constitution of the United States of America guarantees rights only when they do not infringe on the rights, liberty and happiness of others. The 2nd Amendment give us the right to bear arms. But when it becomes apparent that certain people do not possess the mental capacity to safely operate a powerful firearm, it is the responsibility of other citizens to demand limitations in order to preserve the right altogether.
