Most people have made poor choices at some point in their life, but most do not carry the lifelong stigma of being labeled a "felon." Most states offer one-time offenders an opportunity to have their criminal record expunged or sealed; however, most states do not offer an expungement process to those who have been convicted of more than one felony.
Drug addicts who have lived an otherwise ethical and moral lifestyle should be allowed an opportunity to redeem themselves from this label through at least 100 hours of community service, heavy fees, at least 5 years without any convictions, and the completion of an accredited rehabilitation program. I beg you to request the federal government to give rehabilitated addicts who have been convicted of felonies the chance redeem themselves.
