The majority of scientists agree humans’ release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere is the major contributing factor to global warming. Our nation's dependency on fossil fuels is a major contributor to this rise in greenhouse gases. Yet, no action has been taken to reduce these levels.
Over the last three decades, the number of $1B storms has tripled. In 2011, fourteen $1B+ natural disasters occurred. Hurricane Sandy alone could cost Americans over $60B.
With no action taken, the frequency of major storms will increase and the cost to taxpayers will be insurmountable.
