Many states have vehicle codes requiring front license plates on registered vehicles. This imposes an economic burden on the people to pay for two plates (front and back) when a single back plate would be adequate. This economic burden disproportionately affects the poor and is wrong. Two plates are also environmentally wasteful, using more natural resources than necessary in their manufacturing, construction, and shipping.
We ask the Obama administration through executive order to require states receiving federal transportation funds to remove such vehicle codes.
