Require structurally deficient bridges to have their rating prominently displayed to all approaching motorists

Created by M.O. on March 06, 2013

The transportation infrastructure of the Unites States is in poor condition. Often, citizens are crossing bridges that are unsafe and in desperate need of repair. We should do more to enlighten the public of the risks they are taking when they choose to drive (or ride) across these bridges. This can be done by requiring the prominent display of the quality rating of structurally deficient and functionally obsolete bridges upon both entrances to the bridge. This will help the public to make informed decisions as to whether or not they want to assume the risks of traveling on the bridges. Additionally, this requirement will help to raise awareness of the need to improve our infrastructure for current and future generations.
