As a student in high school, I see the importance in teaching environmental science to all students.
According to the National Environmental Education Foundation, "nearly 80 percent of Americans are heavily influenced by incorrect or outdated environmental myths."
Students should be required to take an environmental science class once in their high school career. It is not only relevant to the world, but will help students make more conscious decisions that affect the environment. An environmental class will teach students about global warming, sustainable agriculture, clean energy sources, and current issues the world faces. This class will not only emphasize the importance of being eco-friendly, but will inspire students to find a solution to the current environmental conflicts.
