Having surveillance cameras in CAFOs and slaughterhouses will not only help improve the lives of farm animals, it will also inform consumers of where their meat, dairy, and eggs come from.
Severe animal abuse takes place in countless "factory farms" throughout the country both intentionally and unintentionally. Abuse occurs for many reasons including impossible expectations of workers in the amount of animals they are supposed to slaughter, as well as the intense feelings of enraged workers who are forced to work in a disgusting and unsafe environment.
Consumers should be able to make informed decisions on what their family eats, and right now there is not enough information available for consumers to do this.
Lets put an end to industry self regulation and promote consumer knowledge.
