As technology advances more and more syncing of files between electronic devices requires that you are forced to put the files in the "cloud" first before you can move it over to the other device. If you are not going to use said files in the cloud but only on two separate devices then you may not want the files up there especially if they contain sensitive data. Passwords can be compromised and that data can be breached. Many prefer knowing their data is safe.
All citizens should have an option to move data from one device to another whether it's a simple recipe, or your personal contacts. Even if you use a smart phone you may want your contacts or files on the phone and on the computer; but you might not want them in the cloud. As Amricans we should have this freedom!!
