The FTC recognizes that robocalls are a serious problem that it is working on multiple initiatives to combat.

With practical modification and adjustment, the proposed Crowd-Sourced Call Identification and Suppression System by Daniel Klein and Dean Jackson from Google could be implemented centrally and cooperatively by telephone carriers without cost to consumers.
This service should be as free, simple and ubiquitous as the spam filtering and blocking offered by every email provider.
This petition requests that such an implementation be required by the FTC, and should any necessary authority or enabling legislation be required, that it be submitted to Congress.
