If one can afford to purchase or simply spend time consuming illegal substances, they should be able to have time to work and afford to purchase food and pay bills without assistance from the government and therefore fellow taxpayer. Not only are many narcotics illegal, but they should also, in a sense, be considered a luxury if compared with cigarettes and alcohol. Therefore, this matter should be especially simple to enforce from a logical and moral standpoint. It is disturbing to witness hard working citizens wake up every day and drive to work while there are others who, because they can not find employment, resort to government aid and during this period of assistance, take this support for granted by spending their disposable income on narcotics.
