We petition the Obama Administration to raise the federal minimum wage for tipping class employees from $2.13/hour to the current federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour, and that it increase in equivalence with the non-tipping class federal minimum wage.
We feel that this is an obvious choice that harbors only positive outcomes.
Due to the fact that employees of the tipping class put forth the same amount of labor and effort as employees of other employment classes that receive minimum wage, and that the responsibility of ensuring that the tipping class employees should not lay in the hands of the consumers, or how much business is generated at the establishment in a given shift, but rather in the hands of the employers.
