The purpose of this petition is to allow greater public insight to the ability of the TSA to protect Americans while monitoring how the TSA responds to public complaints. Currently the TSA has released very little information describing its ability to fulfill its mission statement to "maintain the security of the traveling public and continuously set the standard for excellence in transportation security".
Requiring the TSA to publish the following information on a annual basis will allow greater public scrutiny of a tax payer funded administration:
The results of the regular security testing it performs internally.
The number suspected terrorism incidents it has prevented.
The amount of dangerous materials intercepted.
The number and category of complaints including TSA response.
